Hi, I’m David Guaraglia.

I am a software engineer and technical co-founder with over 20 years of experience building products from scratch and scaling them up. I co-founded Virgo Surgical Video Systems as CTO, where I took the company from a napkin sketch to a Series A - designing everything from device hardware and firmware to the cloud video platform, training ML models, building the team, and getting us through SOC 2. I picked up two US patents along the way.

I’ve held Staff Engineer and Tech Lead roles at SmarterDx, Cisco/Meraki, and MerQube, where I’ve focused on making systems better, teams more effective, and engineering practices more sustainable. Before that, I was at Dropcam through the Google acquisition, migrating billing systems and video infrastructure at serious scale. My comfort zone is distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), ML pipelines, and full-stack development - but honestly, I’m happiest when I’m solving whatever the hardest problem in the room is.

I bring a founder’s mindset to everything I do: own the problem end to end, ship it, and build a team that loves doing the same.
